You can also change the position of the OSD by clicking on any of the 4 corner buttons in the bottom right hand square or by clicking on the arrows to adjust the vertical or horizontal height of the OSD. You can also change the colour of the OSD by clicking on the OSD palette circle. You can also change the font and font-size by clicking on the dropdown arrow on Raster 3D. You may also wish to change the rendering mode from the default Vector 2D to Raster 3D.
The first changes you'll probably want to make are to enable it to start with windows and minimize on startup. If it is already running, you can open it from the task tray by clicking on the RTSS icon. I personally also have system time shown on my OSD but you can disable this. You can choose to setup hotkeys to enable or disable the OSD. Tick all the properties you want in your OSD and also tick the "Show In On-Screen Display" checkbox for each item you want shown. Next we move onto the Monitoring tab in Settings. You may want to allow MSI Afterburner to run at startup and open minimized. You don't need voltage control to be unlocked.

Generally the MSI Afterburner installer will have the option to also install RTSS. If you don't have MSI Afterburner installed then make sure to download and install it. If you don't have RTSS installed then make sure to download and install it.
You will need to download a few things before we continue.Īlso, the obligatory disclosure that this will only work on Windows. So I figured I'd make a guide for everybody out there struggling.
#Msi afterburner overlay how to#
I checked this subforum and to my surprise there was no guide on how to do it. I have never used Precision X but I suspect that any overlay that uses Rivatuner will have this issue.A fair few people have asked me how to setup MSI Afterburner On Screen Display (OSD). It was laggy but at least it showed up now when I click on Friend's Match.īoth overlays can co-exist as it is now fully working on steam. I exited the client and quit MSI Afterburner and I saw the GOGG overlay for the first time in game. After a few tries, I finally got a notification in game for the match and that is because I restarted client without clicking on anything else and just waited for my guildie to initiate.Īfter I realised what he was going on about that the overlay was really slow on his end, I kinda realised that the matchmaking was done via the overlay and I started wondering if MSI Afterburner was the cause of the overlay not popping up for me since that happened to me on Steam for a few other games that called up the steam overlay. However if I have already clicked on Friend Match in client, I would have to kill the client and restart it (nothing else would work). My guildmate and I were trying to start a Friend Match but my client would "freeze" whenever I click on Friend Match but I was able to tab out and see his invite in GOGG chat and accept it there. In either case this issue has been resolved on Steam.

Steam overlay had this conflict a couple months back but it was fixed with Rivatuner 7.0.0 beta19 (still the latest version last I checked) whereby due to the changes with Windows 10 Creator's Update on how these things work, something about 64bit API or UWP stuff, but anyways I'm sure the devs can find out.
